As an artist, I get my inspiration from my surroundings, mostly nature and wildlife. I use many different types of mediums such as photography, drawing, and printing. The outdoors has played a big role in my art because it has a nostalgic and magical feeling that attracts me. This fascination started back when I lived in Ontario, where my father would bring me on hikes and would inform me with names of trees, plants, stories and such. I always find peace and find that I become more creative while in the woods. Artists that have inspired me are Hayao Myazaki and John Lassater. Later on in life, I would like to become an animator just like them, but mostly a background artist. I make art because it’s a release for me, it is therapeutic. I feel as if I do well as an artist, I am talented in all different mediums and I know how to grasp new ones as well. Art has been a positive effect on me. Getting my degree is my goal. Once I’ve accomplished that, I want to work as a Graphic Designer. Save up, then later move to a bigger city. I would like to do more schooling once I’m financially stable, to learn more about animation and possibly take more classes learning other mediums. I would like to gain more experience as a photographer, and further into doing landscape, wildlife, and nature. My end goal is to be able to work from home, I want to live somewhere in British Columbia right in the forest.
